RISD Faculty Exhibition and Forum › 02.22.2018

My new sound installation Precipice will be on display at the RISD Museum as part of the biennial RISD Faculty Exhibition and Forum. Comprised of weightless tones and bits of sonic dust, Precipice is a generative composition existing at the the edge of perception. This piece utilizes six hyperdirectional speakers and custom software running on a single-board computer to create a highly spatial experience of sound that is nearly as absent as it is present. The exhibition highlights new work by the artists, designers, and scholars who teach at the Rhode Island School of Design, and will be running from February 23 – March 25, with an opening reception on Thursday, February 22 from 6 – 8pm.
